MEET THE CEO

The Arms Open With Love Foundation is a Nonprofit organization established in 2016 by founder and CEO Sophia Whitehead. Sophia started this heartfelt movement out of her deep passion for caring for those who are homeless. 

We recognize that food insecurity and a lack of access to hair and beauty services are significant challenges faced by those experiencing homelessness. 

Sophia and her team are committed to tackling these issues head-on. They fulfill this mission by providing freshly cooked meals and hair services at no cost. They bring these services directly to the streets, homeless shelters, or wherever there is a need.

We place a significant emphasis on grooming services because many homeless men, women, and children face unique challenges related to hair care. We strive to empower them through haircuts and hairstyling services. We also provide wigs for those experiencing hair loss due to medical conditions or other circumstances. Which can greatly help restore their self-esteem and confidence. 

Our services enhance their dignity and help them feel better about themselves. We believe that looking good contributes to feeling good. Our mission goes beyond just meeting immediate physical needs; we aim to foster human connection and establish trust in those we serve. 

Sophia shares that her lifelong desire to feed and help those in need has always been a fundamental part of who she is. This deep-rooted passion comes from the very depths of her heart.  She expresses how it pains her to witness a shivering homeless person standing on a street corner during a frigid, snowy day, holding a sign that pleads for money and food.

Sophia firmly believes that we were not created to exist without purpose. She awakens daily with intentions and a deep commitment to her community. Her passion for helping others led her to make a life-changing decision one early morning in 2016 to take action for those who were homeless and living out on the streets. This vision was birthed from the truck of her vehicle, where she stored sandwiches and hygiene supplies to distribute.

 Her efforts in this great work reflect her obedience to Jesus' instructions: "Truly I tell you, whatever you do for the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me." Matthew 25:40

**Annalee Lovely Lashes** is a Detroit-based wholesale/retail eyelash and makeup distributor, as well as a beauty team recruiter. Our company provides high-quality lashes and skilled beauty teams to assist with hair and makeup for various events, including charity functions, weddings, and fashion shows such as Michigan Week, Indian Fashion Week, and Detroit Fashion Week, among many others.

  WHAT WE DO & WHO WE ARE

Arms Open With Love Foundation- provides meals at no cost to our less fortunate in the community, and it is sustained by committed and compassionate volunteers and also, by the generous contributions of donors and monthly Partners. Our goal is to help the less fortunate, the homeless, and the hungry members of our community.

We support as many individuals as we can. No one is left out. We provide meals to all who we see on the streets of the City of Detroit MI. And in the future we plan to reach other surrounding areas. We are committed to feeding everyone regardless of their circumstances, or their socioeconomic status. We are committed to making sure that each person will be fed a good fresh warm nutritious meal. We show love and warm compassion to every single person. 

We do our very best at serving them the Best food. On a weekly basis, we put together a special menu. We go above and beyond peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. We put our hearts into this great effort. And we provide them with the best meal possible  

When Christmas and Thanksgiving arrive we take our time to prepare a big dinner from scratch. In the summertime, we have many outdoor barbecues. And when the cold weather approaches, we provide winter accessories, for Men, Women, and Children who live in homeless shelters. I love what I do, and I do my very best to meet their urgent needs. 

Our Homeless Community love and appreciate us, they depend on us, and they need us. The Jesters of appreciation and the smiles and all of the hugs that I receive from each individual is priceless. 

I Wouldn't trade this assignment for nothing

Your donation and your partnership with us means more to us than you may ever know.  Here at Arms Open With Love, we are very diligent about making sure that every dollar is accounted for. We do our best to be transparent by showing you our videos and photos so you can see where your money is being planted.  When you give to this outreach Movement your money goes directly to the community, where we meet the needs of other people. On a monthly basis we travel to different shelter homes across different cities to provide hot fresh cooked nutritious meals.  When Winter approaches, we provide socks, clothing, toiletries, coats, gloves, scarves, hats, and even Can goods.  During Christmas and Thanksgiving, we even prepare dinner.
